Welcome To The Globe!

The Globe has been synonymous with serving fine ales and food since 1720, where quality ales were brewed using spring water drawn from its own well beneath the pub, which still exists today.

Prior to becoming a public house, the Globe had several interesting uses, including a cattle merchants and accommodation for women awaiting impending execution at the hands of the noose man in nearby Gallowtree Gate.

This may go some way to explaining the reported haunting within the premises,, which includes the ghost of a woman on the stairs, two disagreeing brothers that argue over the bar and a young boy in the cellar who turns off the beer!

In the city center, on the corner of Silver Street, The Globe is a traditional real ale pub. Serving the citizens of Leicester for decades!

We strive to give all our customers the best service we can and make sure that they enjoy their visit.

The Globe has a great meaning to the city of Leicestershire as it has been a dominent structure for centuries. It has won many awards over the years for it's traditional real ales and is very proud to be apart of the Everard's group.

Everards

William Everard brewed the first pint of Everards ale in 1849, in Leicester, and stated “No effort shall be found wanting in the production and supply of genuine ale of first rate quality”.

Today, 160 years later, Everards Brewery is very much family run company with values that echo that of William Everard – We aim to provide first class quality goods and services to our customers.

We firmly believe in combining innovation and modern technology with the best of traditional values and practices throughout the business, whether it’s customer service, brewing, or our pubs. “Tradition with ambition” as Chairman Richard Everard says.

Our pub estate comprises over 170 pubs that vary from city centre venues and community locals to village inns. All our pubs are within our heartland, a 70 mile radius of our Leicestershire brewery
